Our website, http://wstmart.com, collects data from visitors in various ways, including through comments, media uploads, and cookies.
Comments:
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data provided in the comments form, including the name, email address, and website (if applicable) of the commenter. We also collect the commenter’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.
To display a profile picture for commenters who use the Gravatar service, an anonymized string created from the commenter’s email address may be provided to the Gravatar service. After a comment is approved, the commenter’s profile picture is visible to the public in the context of the comment.
Media:
If a user uploads images to the website, they should avoid including location data (EXIF GPS) in the images. This is because visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from the images on the website.
Cookies:
When a user leaves a comment on our site, they may opt-in to saving their name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies are used for the user’s convenience so that they do not have to fill in their details again when they leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.
We also use cookies for authentication and to remember user preferences, such as screen display choices. If a user visits our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if their browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when the user closes their browser.
When a user logs in, we set up several cookies to save their login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, while screen options cookies last for a year. If a user selects “Remember Me”, their login will persist for two weeks. If they log out of their account, the login cookies will be removed.
If a user edits or publishes an article, an additional cookie will be saved in their browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article that was edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded content:
Our site may include embedded content, such as videos, images, and articles, from other websites. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor had visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about the visitor, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor the visitor’s interaction with the embedded content, including tracking their interaction with the embedded content if they have an account and are logged in to that website.
Data sharing:
If a user requests a password reset, their IP address will be included in the reset email.
Data retention:
For users who leave comments on our site, we retain the comment and its metadata indefinitely. This is so that we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
User rights:
If a user has an account on our site or has left comments, they can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about them, including any data they have provided to us. They can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about them. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Data transfer:
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. The service may be provided by a third-party company located outside of the user’s country.
